No Inspiration
So I was hit with something tonight that I'm sure I'm going to get hit with again multiple times throughout this photographic journey; no inspiration to shoot. I tried the cat, the turtle, the fish, some glasses in a cabinet, some of our Danish blue plates, but before all that, I grabbed my camera and shot my desktop display (along with my extremely messy desk). Hopefully tomorrow will bring something more.

Mobile Phone Wednesday: Mt. Wilson Toll Road
The Mt. Wilson Toll Road was originally built in 1889 to help transport the large telescope to the top. This is also the "easiest" way to get to Henninger Flats. From the gate I took the picture to the flats the toll road is 2.7 miles with 1360 feet of elevation gain. Most guides will say it takes anywhere from an hour and a half to 3 hours to get to the top. Not an easy hike to say the least. When I was younger, my scout troop used to have us "qualify" to go on our backpacking trips. To qualify we had to hike to the flats in under an hour with a 15 pound pack. My best time was 47 minutes flat.
Day Dreaming
I often fantasize about how I would change the building I work in into my house. The porch here for example. I'd extend it a little to give me a little more room, and the depression in the ground just the other side of the railing would make an amazing pond.... oh well, maybe some day.

Theme Day: Wood
The City Daily Photo sites all went with the theme of wood today. I liked the idea but struggled throughout the day on what to take. Nothing stood out until I got home and applied another coat of water-seal to the top of my work table I built this last weekend. I liked the shadows of the brush caused by the low angle of the work lights.

A Musical Reflection
As I walked into the Sanctuary this morning, Peter was practicing for what I'm sure was an amazing concert with the one and only Mark Thallander in Palm Springs this afternoon, a precursor to the usually awesome Mark Thallander Foundation Concert. The foundation concert is coming up on Sunday, February 14 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angles downtown. If you get a chance to go, you won't be disappointed.
